Event: VIP Royal Greenhouses of Laeken
Date: Each Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, as from the 16 April 2010 until 9 May 2010.
Location: Chateau Bouchout in the National Botanic Gardens of Meise & Royal Greenhouses of Laeken.
Once a year in spring, the Greenhouses at Laeken can be visited by the public for about three weeks.
In combination with musical and non-musical animation and a walking dinner in the Chateau Bouchout in the Botanical Gardens at Meise, this visit to the Royal Greenhouses is a unique event. More than 100,000 people visit the Royal Greenhouses each year.
The Royal Greenhouses are the culmination of numerous discussions, letters, sketches, preparatory studies and drafts that were exchanged between King Leopold II and his architect, Alphonse Balat. Above all, they have served as a source of inspiration for the new Belgian architecture of that time. Together with Art Nouveau, they became known all over the world.
